This a new guestbook put online at the end of October 2019. It replaces earlier efforts which were prone to being spammed. Leave a message to say hello or ask a question.
Message Ian, as mentioned to you at the last London Historians' meeting I'd like to book you for a talk/demo for a future meeting of Clerkenwell & Islington Guides. We meet monthly at a central Islington location. Please can you email me and I can then send you more info as don't really want to put it on here. Thanks Joanna
Admin reply: Hello Joanna and thanks. I've sent you an email. Cheers, Ian.

Message I'd really like to buy a copy of Honk Conk & Squacket but seems it's not available anywhere ! Any plans to re-publish at all ?
Admin reply: Hello Carla and thanks a lot for your interest in my book! I am planning to print a new batch for sale later this year but, in the meantime, I do have a few copies which I've kept in a box, maybe for sentimental reasons. I'd be happy to sell you one of those and am about to send you an email with more details. Cheers, Ian

Message Great site, well done. The Regent Milk Bar, Edgeware road, situated just a little south of Church St. which was and still is a market. The ownwers of the Regent were, brothers, Alfredo & Tony, they were liked by everyone. They gave free ice cream to the kids that had not much money! Their food was great and their relationship witheir customers was legend. There is a facbook page, I think it is called Church st. All the members remember with great fondness the "Regent Milk Bar. It looks from your photo that they had clossed business, as it looks a bit run down, it was alway...spotless. Thanks again.
Admin reply: Hello John and many thanks for sharing your memories of the Regent Milk Bar! It's a shame it's gone but at least Church Street market is still there and seems busy.

Message Ive visited your site infrequently over the years, but always enjoy it.Latterly Ive tried to revisit the old maps,to find that Adobe Flash is not not now available. Can you advise a suitable alternative. Regards, LenT
Admin reply: Hello Len and thanks for dropping. The long-term solution to the map issue is for me to convert the maps from their existing Adobe Flash viewer to a more up-to-date alternative. This will take some work but it needs to be done because Google Chrome will be removing Flash support altogether by the end of 2020.
In the meantime, you can view them in Chrome by following this straightforward method:
1. Find the padlock symbol to the left of the address bar at the top of the page and right-click on it.
2. A pop-up menu appears. Left-click on the last option: 'Site Settings'.
3. Chrome now loads and displays its settings page. Under the heading 'Permissions', look for the seventh option down: 'Flash'. By default, the word 'Block' is displayed in a small grey box to the right of 'Flash'. Click the down-arrow in the grey box and select 'Allow'.
4. That's it!
Best wishes, Ian

Message Hi there, Love your website thank you. My husband was/is a Centrale devotee. He spent a lot of time in there during the late 80s and early 90s. I also use to go in but we hadn't met yet! He has made it his life's work to try and recreate their Puttanesca sauce, which they use to add tuna to. He reckons he has got really close to the recipe now and we have it most Mondays for our tea! I would love to give him that photo you have taken of the cafe, as his Christmas present. Is there any chance I could have a digital copy of it? Maybe in exchange for the Puttanesca Tuna recipe! Thanks very much Lizzie
Admin reply: Hello Lizzie and thanks for your memories of the wonderful Centrale! Four photos of the Centrale are on their way to you - do check your spam folder if they don't appear in your email inbox. Best wishes, Ian

Message Hello and welcome to the London Sound Survey's new guestbook, which has been added to the site at the end of October 2019. Earlier guestbooks and blog comments attracted so much spam that I ended up removing those features.
The new guestbook has some quite strong and unforgiving anti-spam abilities, and it won't like it if you try including URLs in messages! But you're very welcome to use it to ask questions about any part of the London Sound Survey, share your thoughts on relevant subjects, offer work, or simply say hello, how's things, love your website etc.
